How to Make Kumquat Tea
Kumquat tea offers a unique and refreshing flavor, complemented by rich and robust tea undertones, creating a beverage that is both strong and delicate. Additionally, kumquat tea is rich in antioxidants, vitamin C, and essential nutrients beneficial for your health.
Ingredients:
- Approximately 24 kumquats
- 3-5 limes
- ½ cup honey
- ¾ cup cane sugar
- ½ cup water
Instructions:
Prepare Kumquat Jam
- Wash the kumquat and lemon thoroughly, removing dirt, stems and leaves.
- Cut your kumquat in half horizontally and remove the seeds.
- Thinly slice the lemons and remove all seeds. Put the kumquat and lemon aside.
- Over medium-low heat, add kumquat, lemon, cane sugar and honey to the frying pan. Use a spoon to stir continuously for about 10 minutes until the mixture thickens, making sure the sugar does not burn.
- When the mixture has turned caramel in color, add water and stir well for about 10-20 minutes more. Make sure the mixture is not too runny or thick.
- Let the mixture cool for a few minutes before transferring the concentrated jam into a jar. Once completely cooled, you can comfortably cover and store the jar in the refrigerator.
Prepare kumquat tea
- Add two tablespoons of kumquat jam to your cup.
- Add tea and stir well.
- Enjoy with ice if you want!
